“Echo Park” is the stud name for Working Border Collies bred by Stefan and Simone Cross of Strathalbyn, South Australia.
Stefan believes that a good working dog should be able to work in the paddock and in the yards. Despite some common misconceptions, Stefan has found the Border Collie to be very versatile in all areas of work. They are excellent in the paddock and have good grip and presence in the yards. Most will back the sheep freely in the yards or on a stock crate.
The working Border Collies found at Echo Park have blood lines in them sourced from a very successful working line in Western Australia and also in Tasmania.
As a member of the South Australian Working Sheepdog Association, Stefan regularly competes at working sheepdog trials around South Australia and Interstate. He has represented South Australia nine times in National competitions and has represented Australia six times against New Zealand. The dogs that he uses for sheepdog trialing are also his best and most versatile dogs on the farm.
